My 3-D forms encompass a sense of
physical danger. Weather it is sharp, choking, blood, burning, explosions
or a larger than life intimidation. Physical danger is usually sought after
with some sort of risk that will bring change. Life, being natural, amorphous
and un-foreseeing, can only build strength by trying something new and
frightening at some point. The ultimate fright is death which results
from physical harm. After realizing this, everything else like finances
and emotions become null upon intimidation. With so many securities in
the present, risks, where physical danger might dwell, have lost their
excitement and deem unimportant and without reason. Therefore, we, as a
society are left with our disarticulate feelings. These feelings are not
to be underestimated because they have potential to parallel the extremities as
earth elements demonstrate. Earth, wind, fire and water conjure themselves into
visual representations of ever-changing life. These physical elements
would not exist without and cannot be ignored with the bigger picture of
movement which brings constant change. Without movement there is no
change and without change, there is no life. I define moments full of
life in gestures of danger within risk.
This seems very well thought out and I get the impression that you are very sincere in your understanding of these elemental forces and their ability to represent a risk of death that cuts to the very heart of our fears. I do wonder if these thoughts could be organized in a way to make your core thoughts more clear without losing the visceral impact you have going.
ReplyDeleteI get a sense of an intense and very directed force that lay just beneath the surface of who the world thinks you are and the strength of the glue that holds you together. Your very energetic and this comes through in your artist statement. Now tell me more about what genre and materials you use to complete your work. You definitely have my attention.
