My name is Kelsee Franz, and I am a Fine Arts Major at Central Washington University. I have an all around focus, and I have done almost every kind of art class here. (aside from jewelry and wood working) I've known I wanted to major in art since middle school, and I've been so lucky to be able to follow through with that dream. I prefer digital art, but I am just as comfortable in front of an easel with a paint brush, or in the ceramics lab spinning a bowl as I am in front of the computer. I was once told by a very old friend (that has his own bachelor's in fine arts), that if you can do well with traditional media, you can do anything.
Starting off at Highline community college, I had yet to take a real studio type class, and still wasnt able to, until almost a year into my 2 year transfer program. I had the great fortune of having one of the best drawing teachers I've had the honor of learning under; and not only did he inspire me to improve my art by leaps and folds, he cememted my desire to want to live an art filled life. since then, I've learned many things that have pushed and molded me into the artist I am today. I've used my hands to create things I never thought I could, and spent many late nights working on projects before a deadline.
I am inspired by the great renaissance artists, such as Michael Angelo, and Leonardo da Vinci, as well as more modern surrealist artists who create beautiful illusions. I find my art mostly leans towards the fantastical, and I love recreating the human form in new mythical ways. Which is good for my job, I am currently employed full time as a concept artist for a starting up video game firm. (www.drgncorp.com)
I am my own worst critic, and I will not finish a piece of digital art if it is not up to my standards, or, if I decide that the techniques required to make the piece I'm working on are not in my arsenal, then I'll put it aside until I learn how to make it the best it can be; because I want my art to be the best it can be, before I put my name on it.

I'm more interested in your concepts and theories of the art you do, rather than your history.
ReplyDeleteFirst watch the punctuation. It is too distracting when you are trying to read through and the punctuation is causing spelling mistakes. Then tell me about the genre and materials you use and the interest that causes you to use certain concepts and symbols to convey your ideas. Finally, I want to know what direction do you see yourself taking your art in the future.
